 Since most residents joining the Martha Jefferson House family are moving out of their homes, they are able to bring a number of dearly loved items with them, the quantity depending on the size of the accommodation chosen. We recognize how difficult it is to part with long-held treasures, and will help make the transition as pleasant as possible.
Original House
All of our original accommodations are either single rooms or two-room suites and all have private bathrooms and showers as well. Other features include emergency call bells located in every room, bathroom and shower/tub, 'wet bar' facilities in the suites,  a refrigerator on each hallway, birdfeeders at the windows that are maintained by the staff, and views of the gardens from virtually every window!
One unique feature that Martha Jefferson House offers is 'Seasonal Clothing Storage', right in the attic of the main house. Housekeeping will work with you to carefully pack clothing that you won't be needing for a particular season, but please note that at any time should you wish to retrieve anything, all you have to do is ask!
Apartments Addition: The Perry Wing
The Apartments are one or two bedrooms, all with full kitchens and two bathrooms, and are available to rent on a month-to-month basis. There is a one-time, non-refundable Residence Fee of $10,000.00 for each apartment.
The accommodations range in size from 825 to 1,250 square feet and the monthly rent includes all utilities, except telephone. Items available at an additional cost are dining room meals and weekly housekeeping (seasonal cleanings four times a year are an included service). Dining room meals are offered as one, two, or three-meal-a-day pre-purchased plans. Meals in the Dining Room are also available at any time by reservation, on a pay-per-meal basis.
